·        Anamudi  is a mountain located in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and South India, at an elevation of 2,695 metres (8,842 ft). ·        The name Anamudi literally translates to "elephant's hair," a reference to the resemblance of the mountain to an elephant's head. ·        It is the highest point in India south of Himalayas. Hyderabad airport ranks 1st in world in airport service quality: Survey According to a GHIAL statement, the survey shows that Hyderabad Airport has steadily improved its score on a scale of 1 to 5 from 4.4 in 2009 to 4.9 in 2016. GMR's Hyderabad International Airport has secured first position in the esteemed Airports Council International (ACI)-Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category for the year 2016. According to a GHIAL statement, the survey shows that Hyderabad Airport has steadily improved its score on a scale of 1 to 5 from 4.4 in 2009 to 4.9 in 2016. Dras in western Ladakh is the coldest place in India. It is also the second coldest place in the world after Siberia. In the local dialect “Baltic” Dras means “Hell”. Temperatures drop down to about -40 degrees Celsius in winters. Dras has an altitude of 3230 m and lies 60 km west of Kargil on the road to Srinagar. The Dras valley starts from the base of the Zojila pass, the Himalayan gateway to Ladakh. Dras is often called 'The Gateway to Ladakh'. Inhabitants of Dras are of Dard descent, an Indo-Aryan race believed to have originally migrated to Ladakh from Central Asia. They speak Shina, a Dardic language.
