Hyderabad airport ranks 1st in world in airport service quality: Survey According to a GHIAL statement, the survey shows that Hyderabad Airport has steadily improved its score on a scale of 1 to 5 from 4.4 in 2009 to 4.9 in 2016. GMR's Hyderabad International Airport has secured first position in the esteemed Airports Council International (ACI)-Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category for the year 2016. According to a GHIAL statement, the survey shows that Hyderabad Airport has steadily improved its score on a scale of 1 to 5 from 4.4 in 2009 to 4.9 in 2016. KIGALI AGREEMENT

Paris Agreement to mitigate climate change was followed by another major global agreement – Kigali Agreement.  What is Kigali Agreement? In the 28 th meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol, negotiators from 197 nations have signed a historic agreement to amend the Montreal Protocol in Kigali, a capital city of a tiny African country, Rwanda on 15 th October 2016. As per the agreement, these countries are expected to reduce the manufacture and use of Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by roughly 80-85%  from their respective baselines, till 2045. Economic Survey for the year 2016-17 has an entire chapter dedicated to the discussion on Universal Basic Income (UBI). In this article let us try to understand the concept of Universal Basic Income, why it is needed, what are the challenges in its implementation and other related issues. What is Universal Basic Income (UBI)? Universal Basic Income is a periodic, unconditional cash transfer to every citizen in the country. Here, social or economic positions of the individual are not taken into consideration. The concept of universal basic income has three main features. They are as following: 1.      UBI is universal in nature. It means UBI is not targeted. 2.      The second feature of UBI is cash transfer instead of in-kind transfer. 3.      The third feature is that UBI is unconditional. The ‘deadly’ trio of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru will always be remembered by the coming generations for opposing the mighty British Empire tooth and nail. Shivaram Hari Rajguru was born on 24 th August, 1908 at a time, when India was facing the staunchest opposition for its independence by the British Empire. Rajguru was a colleague of Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev. Being a learned scholar, he was a sharp shooter and was regarded as the gunman of Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA). Rajguru was a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, who wanted India to be freed from the clutches of Britishers by any means. He believed that ferocity (extremism) against oppression was far more effective than the moderate path. He displayed courage when he took part in the murder of a British police officer, JP Saunders , at Lahore in 1928.
